1 gal dandelion flowers, NO STEMS! 1 gal boiling water 3 lb sugar 3 oranges, cut small 3 lemons, cut small, 1 oz yeastPour water over flowers. Let stand 3 days. Strain. Add remaining ingredients. Let stand 3 weeks. Strain and bottle. |

2 cups flour 4 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 2 tsp butter 2/3 cup milk
Mix dry ingredients. Work in butter. Add milk gradually. Roll out to half inch thickness and cut with biscuit cutter. Cook with the stew. |

3 cups sugar 1 and 1/3 cups boiling water 1 tbsp corn syrup 4 egg whites, beaten stiff 1 tsp vanilla
Cook until it spins a thread when dropped in cold water. See Ethel's Fondant.
Let cool. Beat very stiff. Pour out on board and roll and work until pliable. Flour or powdered sugar may be put on board to prevent sticking. Shape and cut into 1 and 1/2 inch long ovals. Let stand overnight. Top with fruit or nuts. Or drizzle with unsweetened chocolate. |

Boil 1 lb sugar, 1 tsp each of ground cloves, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg 15 minutes. Add whiskey to taste. Mix with 1 quart blackberry juice. Heat and bottle. |

1/2 cup molasses 1/2 cup brown sugar 2 cups flour 1 tsp ginger 1/3 tsp salt 1 and 3/4 tsp soda 1/3 cup butter 1/2 cup sour milk 1 egg, well beaten 2/3 cup nuts and raisins
Cook butter and molasses in sauce pan until boiling. Remove from heat. Add soda and beat. Add milk and beaten egg and remainder of ingredients, mixed together. Beat well. Mix in nuts and raisins. Bake in square pan in 350 degree oven 45 minutes. Test for doneness. |
