Paco the Walking Taco | |
This is a story of two friends in a world much like our own, where the sun begins and the moon ends the days in which we roam. One small thing separates us from the characters of this fable: one is a sock and his friend a taco, like one you might find on your table. Well, this taco is special and I will tell you why. This taco can walk. I swear that it's true, for I've seen it with my own eye. His name is Paco the Walking Taco, a fitting name at that, and his friend is Hane the Hopping Sock, who leapt around like a cat. Now these two friends were besties indeed, the best that I've ever seen, but one day Hane became upset and began to get a little mean. You see, our two friends loved to play soccer all through the day and the night, but Paco was much better and won every game, and this time it started a fight.Hane had lost one too many times to his long legged friend, so he did what he thought might even the score as well as bring him a win. He made fun of Paco for the only thing that he knew made him insecure; his crooked old teeth were the cause of his grief, and what started this unfortunate war. You see, Paco was cool and everyone loved him, which always made him smile; but when he did, his crooked teeth shown bright for nearly a mile. Paco was good at sports and school and was often called a smarty, but this didn't change the fact that his teeth were more crooked than any political party. Paco hated his teeth, and Hane knew this to be true, so to bring it up was hurtful and extremely rude; Paco left his friend and the field, in a very, very sad mood. Paco went home to eat a snack, but even this didn't help. "Why would Hane be so mean?" asked Paco with a yelp.Meanwhile, Hane was back at home thinking about what he had done. He didn't mean to hurt Paco, he just wasn't having any fun. Hane knew he was wrong, and now he felt bad he had made Paco sad. "I have to go apologize to him, even if it helps just a tad." So Hane set out to do what was right, by putting an end to this silly fight. He hopped and hopped to Paco's house and made it just before night. Then he knocked on the door as he rehearsed his lines. He couldn't wait to make things right. When Paco finally came to answer the door, what he saw left him shocked! Hane had come with a new soccer ball and it looked like he had walked. You see, Hane lived over ten miles away and walking would take him nearly all day; but to end the feud and get his friend back no distance would get in his way. So there on the doorstep, Hane told his story about how bad he felt. his words sparked a fire that soon made sad Paco's icy heart melt.
They were friends once again, so that very next day, they took the new ball and went out to play. All of this happened for both of them for a very small price. You see, there's a message here to be learned, that is, if you are concerned: Never make fun, and to your friends always be nice. Well, I guess we are done. |
