Sequel to Red Wing
"The moon shines tonight on pretty Red Wing."
Sitting in moonlight waiting for her love.
The breezes sigh, and the night birds will sing,
The moon looks on with sympathy from above.

The song leads Mary to review her life
As she awaits her own lover's return.
All she wanted was to be his wife,
And wonders which way next life's road will turn.

The word came from the front that he was gone.
She screamed, and with abandon then she wept.
Full realizing life with him was done,
And all her promises to him she'd kept.

Now with her voice pealing like a bell,
His foes she cursed and doomed to burn in hell.
